The only way to influence is to practice what you preach and preach what you practice.

People love to be listened too. Ask questions w/o waiting for your turn to speak. You’ll be surprised at the results.
When you believe what your thinking/saying. Belief in what you convey to others sparks they’re belief in what you are saying.
Do you want to manipulate, put ideas into people´s head, or give out opinions, thoughts and points of view? I guess it´s a balance between the relationship, your rep, and also the difficulty of the things you want to accomplish.
