@Vlogbrothers John, is there any chance you could pick apart some of the craziness in “As I Lay Dying” as you did with “Ulysses”?

@jessings333 Ah, you see there is true beauty in everything. There is now a Nerdfighting School YouTube channel, Facebook page and Twitter account, although I’m not entirely sure what’s going on with it right now. Anyway, THE NERDFIGHTERS SCHOOL OF AWESOME IS HAPPENING!!!!

@artyfarty1996 No no no, you see the beauty of it is it could be the entire world because we wouldn’t need teachers anymore and they could become translators for the vlogbrothers.

@TheProjectWeird you can’t start a sentence with the word “because”. why is everybody trying to use proper grammar and punctuation? i doubt john green gives a shit how you write on his comment board

  8. BlackLabelEric says:

The problem with English as a school study, John, is that it’s not about actually thinking for yourself so much as passing tests by thinking like the people who wrote them.

My two closest friends weren’t born in America, but I still consider them Americans. I feel that where you come from shouldn’t effect how you are considered now. They are still Chinese and Brazilian, but I am also Irish-Italian, I was just born here. That shouldn’t change how we view someone as American. You shouldn’t have to be “white” to be American.

My English teacher said: “Jeans are like pizza, crappy pizza is better than no pizza.” He was wearing jeans that he had to pay to wear, and he said that weren’t very comfortable, and he was still wearing them.

I think one of the things that attracted me most to the channel and to become a nerdfighter, is John’s love of pizza. Because my feeling are mutual for pizza.

  18. FUNFUNGirlFun says:

I totally quoted that rant at the end to my english teacher… she was impressed until I started talking about pizza, she loves your books though!

  19. CappyRed says:

“The job of reading is not to understand the author’s intent”

… if only more of our fifteen-year-old selves’ English teachers felt that way…
    (beautiful turn of phrase)
